Ingredients:

  • One package of Knorr leek soup mix
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • An 8-ounce container of sour cream
  • 10-ounce package of frozen chopped spinach
  • can of water chestnuts
  • chopped green onion to garnish (optional)

Step 1: Thaw and Drain Chopped Spinach

Thaw your spinach if it's still frozen. If you're planning, you can put the spinach in the refrigerator to thaw overnight.

Tip: Make sure to drain the spinach as much as possible, either with paper towels or by draining the spinach with a chinois. This step is very important as it will prevent your dip from becoming soggy and diluting the flavor.

Step 2: Chop Chestnuts and Green Onions

Next, drain and chop up the water chestnuts and green onions. We love the crunch that water chestnuts add to this recipe without altering the overall taste of the dish.

Step 3: Assemble and Mix

In a large bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, chopped chestnuts, spinach, and soup mix. You may also season to taste with salt & pepper if desired.

Tip: After your dip is thoroughly mixed, we suggest placing it in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving to allow all the flavors to meld, thicken, and for the soup mix to soften into the dip. Lastly, garnish your dip with the chopped green onion right before serving.

We suggest serving the dip with crusty bread, tortilla chips, pita chips, or anything that you think would benefit from some spinach dip on it. Enjoy!
