Looking for a delicious pimento cheese recipe? Just follow this super easy tutorial!

How To Make Pimento Cheese

Pimento cheese, affectionately known as “the caviar of the South”, is used commonly as a spread or dip. Cute nickname, right?

Pimento goes with everything! Yes, we mean everything. Well, maybe except for desserts. But then again, this pimento cheese recipe is so delicious, it may just go with dessert.

Pimento cheese is mostly paired with crackers, celery, tortilla chips, and deviled eggs and is a popular alternative to American cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches. Pimento is so versatile you can eat it in any possible way you please. It's a spread, dip, scsalt and black pepper to tastehmear, topping or filling,. The best thing about this iconic Southern dish is that it is cheap and easy to buy and make. You just throw the ingredients straight into a mixing bowl, work your arm out a bit to mix the ingredients together (food and a workout? Hooray!) and yeah, your pimento cheese is done and ready to savor!

Here's What You'll Need:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced (optional)
  • 1 jar (4 ounce) diced pimento, drained
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Step 1

Put the cheddar cheese in the mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add in the cream cheese.

Step 3

Add the mayonnaise.

Step 4

Put a 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder.

Step 5

Add another 1/4 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper.

Step 6

Toss in your onion powder.

Step 7

Put some jalapeno pepper. This is optional and you can definitely skip this one if you feel like there's no need to add jalapeno to your pimento cheese.

Step 8

Then, pour the pimento all over the mixture. FYI: Pimento is a mild variety of red pepper.

Step 9

Mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon or you can also use a mixer. (Depends on the intensity of the workout you want to get.)

Step 10

Season with salt and pepper to taste and you're done! You can chill this in the refrigerator or you can serve it right away. Enjoy!

Spread it on your favorite bread and have a savory and delicious snack to munch on.

Perfect to spread on breads!
