Reminder: Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. The standard heating time of air fryer takes about 3 minutes

Directions:

  1. Dry up your potatoes with a paper towel or clean dish towel. This makes the skin even crispier as there’s less moisture.
  2. Spray your potatoes with the cooking oil of your choice and sprinkle all sides with the garlic powder and salt.
  3. Take your russet potatoes and place them in the air fryer basket. Cook them in the air fryer for about 40-50 minutes.
  4. Once cooked, take your potatoes out of the air fryer and use a knife to add a slit down the middle to let the steam out.

Some of the air fryer baked potato toppings are:

  • Bacon bits
  • Broccoli
  • Butter
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Diced white onions
  • Minced spring onions
  • Salsa
  • Sour cream

Cooking Note:

  • Don’t put too many potatoes in one go, otherwise, they won’t cook properly, and you won’t get that crispy crust.
  • Rotate the potatoes halfway through the cooking time, so they cook evenly.
  • You can test doneness by pricking it with a fork. Your potatoes are already done when you can easily pierce it without effort.
  • Homemade Recipes recommends russet potatoes because they’re rich in starch and absorb all the flavors from your toppings like a sponge.
  • For the potatoes to easily absorb all the flavors, add the toppings while they’re still piping hot.
  • No need to prick the potatoes before cooking
