Easy Baked Honey Sesame Chicken Recipe for Dinner

If you get tired of your regular chicken recipes, try this baked honey sesame chicken recipe from home cooking adventure. I’m sure you’ll love this easy Chinese food recipe. It would taste even better than your local take-out restaurant. The chicken sauce is sticky, sweet, and so savory! It is the perfect weekend dinner idea you and your kids will love. This is yet another amazing recipe for your chicken. So, let’s get cooking!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (500g) chicken breast
  • salt
  • black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2/3 bread crumbs

For the sauce:

  • 1 tbsp of sesame oil
  • 1 tsp chili paste
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup of chicken stock or water
  • 1/3 cup light soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 cup of vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (toasted) for garnishing

Instructions:

Step 1. Slice the Chicken

Slice the chicken into cubes and drizzle with pepper and salt.

Step 2. Bread the Chicken

Put the breadcrumbs in a flat bowl and coat the chicken.

Step 3. Bake the Chicken

Line the parchment paper into the baking sheet and place the coated chicken. Drizzle the chicken with oil. Then, bake in a preheated 370F oven for 25-30 minutes.

Step 4. Prepare the Sesame Sauce

While baking the chicken, prepare the sauce. Put the saucepan over a medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, chili paste, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until the ingredients are mixed thoroughly.

Step 5. Stir the Ingredients

Add the chicken stock or water, 1/3 cup of soy sauce, 1/3 cup of honey, 1 cup of vinegar, and sugar. Keep stirring until it boils.

Step 6. Stir until the Mixture Thickens

Add the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water, then continue stirring until the mixture thickens. Keep on a very low fire until your chicken is already cooked.

Step 7. Put the Sauce Over the Chicken

When the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a serving bowl and put the sauce over the chicken. Garnish with the sesame seeds and serve. You’re done! Serve it with rice and expect it to be devoured in no time.
