Every backyard party needs a selection of side dishes to compliment the main course, whether it's BBQ ribs, chicken wings, juicy steak or spicy sausage. A cold pasta salad fits the bill, providing a simple dish filled with texture that can be made in less than half an hour. If you're a fan of fish, we've got an easy pasta salad recipe with smoked salmon that you can enjoy with your meal or even on its own.

Ingredients:

• 1 c. dried farfalle pasta
• ¼ c. dill, chopped
• 1 tbsp. flat leaf parsley, chopped
• 1 tbsp. olive oil
• 1½ tbsp. lemon juice
• 1 tsp. lemon rind
• 1½ tsp. whole grain mustard
• 1 c. smoked salmon fillet

Step 1: Cook Pasta

Cook your pasta according to the instructions on the package. After it's cooked, drain the water and set aside in a large bowl.

Step 2: Dressing

Combine the dill, parsley, lemon juice and rind and mustard in a bowl and whisk until well-combined.

Step 3: Toss Pasta

Pour the dressing over the pasta. Toss to combine it well. Season to taste.

Step 4: Salmon

Cook the salmon and break it up into small chunks. Add them to the pasta and serve.
