Learn how to make a Taco Bell quesadilla at home that leaves the fast-food version in the dust.
Make A Taco Bell Quesadilla That Beats The Real Thing
Fast food is primarily great for one reason—
It’s fast.
In less than 10 minutes (most times, even less), you can drive your car into the drive thru, place an order, get your food and drive off. Unfortunately, fast food isn’t usually healthy and doesn’t taste as good as food you would get at a restaurant or make at home.
Taco Bell is one of the most popular fast food restaurants, thanks to dozens of items that range from tacos and burritos to nachos and churros. One of their most in-demand items is their quesadilla, which is a simple combination of cheese, tortillas and a decent tasting sauce.
If you love Taco Bell’s quesadilla, but want something that tastes a little better and is probably healthier than the fast-food version, why not make it at home? Thanks to Instructable’s user kfr1sby, you can make your own Taco Bell quesadilla in the comfort of your own home.
For this tutorial, you’ll need the following:
For the sauce:
- 1/4 c. sour cream
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise (or Miracle Whip)
- 4 tsp. bottled jalapeño juice
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- dash of salt
For the quesadillas:
- tortillas
- cheese (any you prefer)
- meat (beef, chicken, etc) (optional)
- veggies (onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc) (optional)
Equipment needed:
- measuring spoons
- measuring cup
- mixing bowl
- whisk
- quesadilla maker/oven/skillet (to make quesadilla)
Step 1: Make The Sauce
Combine the mayonnaise and the sour cream in the mixing bowl. Use the whisk and mix thoroughly.
Add the next 7 ingredients that are in the “for the sauce” section, including the cumin and cayenne pepper.
Whisk everything once again until the mixture is smooth.
Step 2: Prepare the Quesadilla
Using a spoon, spread sauce all over one tortilla. Once enough sauce is on it, cover it with your shredded cheese.
Put another tortilla over the one with the sauce and cheese.
Cook until light brown and crispy.
You now have a homemade version of the Taco Bell quesadilla, which I can firmly say is much better than the fast-food version.
