Instead of going out to an Italian restaurant, try out this homemade Alfredo sauce recipe and prepare to be amazed.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. of fettuccine
  • 3 cloves of garlic, pressed
  • 1 tbsp. of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 c. whole milk
  • 1/2 c. heavy cream
  • 1 piece of large egg yolk, beaten
  • 1/3 c. of Parmesan, grated
  • 2 tbsp. of fresh parsley leaves, chopped
  • kosher salt and black pepper

Step 1: Add Water

Start off by preparing the pasta. First pour water into a pan and add salt to it. Allow the salted water to boil.

Step 2: Cook Pasta

Cook the pasta following the instructions on the packaging. Drain the water properly when done.

Step 3: Other Ingredients

In another sauce pan over medium heat, dump in the garlic, milk, heavy cream, and butter. Bring the ingredients to a simmer.

After simmering, remove pan from heat and stir in the egg yolk and Parmesan cheese. Stir constantly as you do. Also, prevent the egg from scrambling. In the event that the sauce is too thick, you can add in more milk.

Step 4: Add Pasta to Sauce

Add the cooked pasta into the pan. Toss this well to coat the pasta with the sauce. Taste the sauce then add salt and pepper.

Step 5: Plate

Arrange the pasta on your serving dish. Garnish it with Parmesan and parsley.

Step 6: Serve & Enjoy!
