Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken thighs, trimmed of fat
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp. finely grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- sesame seeds, for garnish
Directions:
- Mix the soy sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and sesame oil in a large bowl and set aside.
- Pan fry the chicken thighs on their own, with one tablespoon of oil. Do this until both sides of the chicken thighs are golden brown. Set the chicken aside.
- Now put the sauce into the pan and heat it to a simmer. Toss the chicken into the sauce and let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Make sure to cover the chicken in the teriyaki sauce.
- Once the chicken is done, take it out of the sauce and turn on your broiler.
- Take them out when the chicken is covered with sauce, meanwhile turn in broiler.
- Continue cooking your sauce down with very low seat. Depending on how much sugar is in it, it will thicken.
- Brush the cooked chicken with a layer of the thick teriyaki sauce and throw the chicken into the broiler. Cook it on high for 1 to 2 minutes, take the chicken out, brush it once more with teriyaki sauce and throw it back into the broiler for another minute or so.
- Serve your chicken with rice and broccoli.
