Any type of California Pinot Nior works well with salmon dishes, not matter how they are prepared. This is an  elegant and medium-bodied red wine with aromas of herbal spice, cherry, and tea . It gives a smooth  and  silky texture on the palate with  mild tannins.  You’ll also taste flavors of plum, black cherry, and spice.

5. Bourgogne Les Genevrieres Pinot Noir

Another red wine that can pair well with salmon — and the final option on our top 5 list —is this Bourgogne Les Genevrieres, produced by Frederic Esmonin. This is a Pinot Noir from France, which has notes of cranberry, raspberry and tart. The earth and bright cherry aromas lead to spice flavors on the palate, ending in a short but pleasant finish.
