Pairing the perfect wine with a specific dish can be a daunting task. All of the different flavors—bitter, sweet, salty, acidic, etc—that the plate has to offer determines which wine will be the ultimate pairing.
Depending on the type of dish, similar tastes in wine and food work best, while other times it’s better when the tastes contrast. It’s all about which flavors compliment each other best to get the superior tasting meal.
