A homemade and healthy oat bar recipe that you and your kids will go nuts for.

A Healthy Oat Bar Recipe With Only Three Ingredients

Keeping your kids healthy is very important, but that can be tough when cruising down aisles at the grocery store. Cereal, brownies, muffins, cookies and candy shout out to your young ones with their bright colors and delicious tastes, making it hard for you to say no at times.

Instead of denying them delicious treats, why not create all delicious all-natural treats at home. With Instructables' user xCN‘s guide, you can create healthy oat bars with just three ingredients.

Say no to unhealthy snacks.

For this tutorial, you’ll need the following:

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. oats
  • 1 large banana
  • 3 tbsp. coconut oil
  • nuts, chocolate, dried fruit, sugar, honey or any other ingredients (optional)

Tools:

  • small single sized baking dish
  • fork
  • spoon
  • oven
  • microwave (optional)

Step 1: Combine Oats, Coconut Oil and Banana

Start by preheating your oven to 375 F. Using a microwave, melt the coconut oil and take it out. Add the oats directly into the oil and use a spoon to mix it well. Break up the banana into small pieces, add it to the oats and mash it all together with a fork. If you've got any other ingredients you want to mix in (chocolate chips, nuts, etc), this is the time to throw them in.

Step 2: Bake & Cut

After it's mixed use the back of a spoon to even out the surface. Throw it in the oven and bake it for 25 minutes. When it's golden brown, take it out, let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes and use a knife to cut the entire thing into smaller pieces.

Step 3: Enjoy!

Use honey, maple syrup or melted chocolate as dip to take these oat bars to another level.
