Smoothie is a delicious and healthy meal option for breakfast,lunch and dinner. There are so many ingredients and fruits available to create this quick and easy drink that you wont ever get bored. Check out these yummy recipes taken from 40 Days of Fasting and Praying by Daniel Fast.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 2 Tbs. Peanut Butter (chunky or smooth… whatever you prefer!)
  • 1-2 squirts of Hershey’s reduced calorie chocolate syrup
  • 1 Tbs. wheat germ
  • 6 oz. soy milk

Method

Put all ingredients into blender. Blend until ideal consistency is reached!

Chocolate Almond Date Smoothie

Consider this a whole meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup whole almonds
  • 1 cup pitted dates, packed
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup silken tofu, soy or any other non-dairy milk (rice, grain, oat, almond)
  • A dozen ice cubes

Method

Place the almonds, dates, cocoa, and water in the blender. Cover and let the mixture rest, unblended, 5 to 10 minutes. Add the tofu or milk and ice and blend a full minute at high speed until thick and frothy.(Makes 5 cups)

Strawberry Orange Splash Smoothie Recipe

|Ingredients

  • 10 strawberries (save 2 for garnish)
  • 1 medium sized cup of fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 orange
  • 6 ice cubes

Method

Chop 8 strawberries in halves. Peel and slice the 1/4 of orange, put all the ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and garnish with a strawberry in each cup.

(serves 2)

Orange Fruity Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, chopped and cut into 4
  • 1 peach, halved, pitted and cut into cubes
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • ½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 3 ice cubes

Method

Place all the ingredients into the blender and process until smooth.(serves 2)

Strawberry Buddy Smoothie Recipe

  • Approx 6 large strawberries
  • 3 large scoops of honeydew melon
  • Approx 10 raspberries
  • 200ml mango and apple juice
  • 4 ice cubes

Method

To make this delicious drink, slice all of the fruit in to appropriate sizes and place in the blender. Add the ice cubes and the apple and mango juice. Blend until smooth.(serves 2)
