And of course, you will also need a great recipe to follow–we have one right here!

How to Make Homemade Cupcakes from Scratch!

You Will Need:

  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 2 cups sugar, granulated
  • 2 eggs, large
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • Frosting of your choice

Procedure:

Step 1. Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2. Prepare Baking Pan

Get a muffin pan and line it with baking paper.

Step 3. Sift Flour and Mix Dry Ingredients

Get a bowl and pour the flour, salt and baking powder in it. Set the dry ingredient mixture aside.

Step 4. Mix Wet Ingredients

In the bowl of your stand mixer, cream butter using a stand mixer. DO this with a medium-high speed until it becomes smooth and creamy. This will take about 4 minutes.

Step 5. Adding Eggs

Add eggs, one piece at a time and beat well after adding each.

Step 6. Beat On

Pour the vanilla in and continue beating. Reduce the speed into a medium-low setting.

Step 7. Add the Rest of the Ingredients

Pour in half of your flour mixture, then pour the milk. Gradually add in the remaining flour mixture until a smooth batter is formed. Scrape down the sides of the bowl if you must.

Step 8. Pour In Batter and Bake

Fill the muffin pan with batter, coming up only 3/4 of the way.

Step 9. Test for Doneness

Bake for about 18 to 20 minutes. Keep in mind that you must rotate the pan after 9- 10 minutes. Try doing the toothpick test to see if it is already baked through. Stick the toothpick into the batter and remove it. If the toothpick comes out clean, then the cupcake is already baked properly.

Step 10. Let Cool

Transfer the baking pan to a cooling rack. Set it aside for about 5 minutes.

Step 11. Enjoy!
