Here at homemade recipes, we love making delicious food from scratch. That includes delicious crockpot apple butter. We love this easy apple butter recipe. Perfect for beginners who want to experiment a little.

You Will Need:

9 quarts of applesauce

1 teaspoon of cloves (ground)

2 tablespoons of cinnamon (ground)

2 to 4 cups of sugar

½ teaspoon of allspice

Procedure:

Step 1.

The very first thing that you need to do when making an apple butter is to make applesauce. If you do not have time for this, you can opt to buy a container at the grocery.

Step 2.

Get a crock pot and fill it with the applesauce until it's within an inch of being full. Add the remaining applesauce later on. Place it over low heat and allow to boil.

Step 3.

As you wait for it to boil, you can add the spices.: clove, allspice and cinnamon. Also, add the sugar. If you don't like to use sugar, you can opt for a natural sweetener instead like agave or honey. This will bring out the flavor of your apple butter.

Step 4.

Now, you can set the crock pot on medium or low heat. Observe the crock pot for 8 hours and if the mixture has not cooked down yet, then you can boost its heat. Once the mixture has been cooked, you can cover it with its lid. Do not seal it too tightly so that the steam can be able to escape. Allow it to cook for 6- 18 hours. You can try stirring it every now and then so that the mixture will not stick to the pot. You can also try scraping the sides from time to time.

Step 5.

Pour in the remaining applesauce.

After boiling it overnight, it will just be half of its volume. You can then pour in the remaining applesuace. And add in more sweetener. Allow it to cook for couple of hours more.

Step 6.

While you wait for the apple butter to cook, you can get the jars and clean it thoroughly. Make sure that the jars are properly cleaned and dried.

Step 7.

Now is the perfect time to blend the apple butter. Blend the apple butter until it becomes smooth.

Step 8.

Pour the resulting mixture into the jars and seal it properly.
