The world has 4.6 billion people living in it. How many people out of that number like spice? The number has got to be astronomical. I can’t say how many love the elegant and delicious taste of spice. It brings a whole new definition to the world of cooking and I am a big fan of anything with a little heat! I don't particularly like it to be scorching hot, but just enough to entice my taste buds to a point where I will want more!

Believe me, if there is something that you need in your life, it’s a bit of spice!

Bring On The Heat! How To Make Homemade Pico de Gallo Salsa

I love eating Mexican food. Ever since I was 5, I was munching on Burritos and licking Guacamole off of my fingers. What I love most about it is just the right amount of heat! One of my favorite parts about eating Mexican delicacies are the sides and more specifically – the Pico de Gallo salsa. I’ve been using it for parties and small gatherings and for movie nights as well. Trust me, with this baby on your side of chips, you can never, ever, go wrong!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 small red onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ a cup of cilantro, chopped
  • 4 tomatoes, large, seeded and chopped
  • 2-3 peppers
  • A pinch of salt for taste
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (for an extra kick)

Directions:

Step 1.

Cut garlic, cilantro, onion, and tomatoes into small pieces.

Step 2.

Add lime juice to the vegetable mix. Do not blend. We don’t want it to become mushy.

Step 3.

Add 1 tbsp of hot sauce. For spice lovers you can add a little more.

Step 4.

Slice peppers lengthwise. Remove the seeds and then add to salsa mix.

Step 5.

Add salt.

Step 6.

Serve with dish.

This is one of the most quick and easy side dishes that you can make.

Plus its ingredients are so simple that you can buy them almost anywhere. Bon Appetit!
