Chocolate pudding is one of the oldest and most delicious dessert recipes out there. Chocolate pudding is ranked along with some of the greatest desserts of all time. Sadly, chocolate pudding is slowly becoming a forgotten dessert. If you still love the allure of a good chocolate pudding, noting beats making it in your home.

Homemade Chocolate Pudding Recipe

You Will Need:

  • 4 ounces of bittersweet chocolate
  • 3 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 3 tbsps of cocoa powder
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • 2 ½ cups of whole milk
  • yolk from 3 pieces of large-sized eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • ½ cup of sugar

Procedure:

Step 1.

The very first thing that you need to do is to chop the chocolate pieces into tiny little shreds or fine flakes. Set it aside.

Step 2.

Place the cocoa powder, salt and cornstarch in a large bowl and whisk it altogether. Whisk in the cream in a slow manner. Keep doing so until the mixture becomes smooth.

Step 3.

Add in the egg yolks in the bowl and whisk.

Step 4.

Place sauce pan over medium heat then add milk and sugar. Stir well until everything is dissolved. Bring the mixture to a boil and allow it to simmer.

Step 5.

Get the bowl containing the egg yolks and cream and pour the hot milk into it. Combine the mixtures by whisking it and bring the mixture back to the pot.

Step 6.

Allow the mixture to boil over medium heat. Keep on stirring. Keep in mind that the mixture will look thicker during this point.

Step 7.

Continue cooking for 2 minutes. Keep on stirring and whisking then add in vanilla and shredded chocolate for 2 minutes or until the chocolate is already melted. Whisk until the chocolate is completely incorporated into the mixture.

Step 8.

Get the container of your choice and line it with either a wax paper or a plastic wrap and spread the pudding evenly into it. Cover the container and chill it in the refrigerator for one day or more.
