How To Make Punchy Pumpkin BBQ Sauce
Here are the ingredients that you will need in order to make this “Punchy Pumpkin BBQ Sauce”:
- Ketchup–you will need approximately 1 cup which is the equivalent to 8 oz. However depending on how many people you’re feeding you may need to adjust as necessary. This recipe makes approximately 1 pint, so alter accordingly.
- Chipotle Cooking Sauce–I used Herdez Traditional Chipotle Meican Cooking Sauce. I found mine in the ‘Ethnic Food’ aisle of my local grocery store. You will need 1/2 cup.
- Pumpkin Puree–The kind I used was Libby’s 100% Pumpkin Puree”. I used 5-6 tablespoons for this recipe.
I measured 1 cup of ketchup and poured it directly into a medium sized saucepan.
Measure 1/2 cup chipotle cooking sauce and add it to the saucepan.
Add 5-6 tablespoons of pumpkin purée and add it to the saucepan.
Turn stove on to a medium/low heat
Let the mixture simmer on a medium/low heat, stirring continuously.
Let simmer until the mixture is completely incorporated.
Let the sauce cool and then add it to a jar.
