Thank you for purchasing our Creating Your Dream Home kindle book!
As much as I would love for you to be able transform your current home into your dream home at absolutely no cost, I realize that is a lofty and unattainable goal. As a result, I’ve gone out and found several items specifically mentioned in the book and located them on Amazon for you. While there are many more items I could have added to this list, these are all items I personally own and can vouch for. These all work together to construct my dream home and I hope they will do the same for you!
1. Hotel Luxury Bed Sheets
These are for a queen size mattress, but other sizes are available as well. When it comes to bed sheets, the biggest factor is thread count. Typically, the higher the thread count the higher the quality, and the higher the cost. These sheets, though, sport a whopping 1800 thread count while remaining affordable!
2. Northpoint Plush Throw Blanket
Bed sheets are nice, but they only get you half way there. Without a proper plush blanket, your guests might feel they are staying at a hotel. While absolute cleanliness is nice, a plush blanket can make your guests feel a little more like they’re in a home while adding to the comfort of their stay.
3. Winsome Wood Leo Storage Baskets
Storage baskets come in all shapes and sizes. So what will serve you best will likely depend on which room you are seeking to add these items too and what exactly needs to be stored. I like this set because it comes with three matching baskets at two different sizes. They look great together, or you can use them each for separate purposes!
4. Lipper Bamboo Lazy Susan
Lazy Susans are a fun item that you don’t quite see in every home. Whether you want it at the center of your diner table, or off to the side in the kitchen, these spinning trays offer a unique way to serve and present your toppings or side dishes!
5. DecoBros 3-Tier Spice Rack
They call it a spice rack, but really you can use this convenient, wall-hanging storage for just about anything. In fact, I currently have mine in the shower. The point is, it’s a versatile item that both looks good and helps you clear up a bit of that much needed cupboard space.
6. Dorman Hardware Wire Baskets
These are a little smaller and a little less flashy, but no less useful. Like the spice rack, these by no means have to be confined to the kitchen. Anywhere you think these may help you, they can! I find they are particularly useful over the sink for drying utensils. But don’t let that limit their utility to you!
7. Primula Cast Iron Tea Kettle
Whether or not you are a tea drinker yourself, I always find it beneficial to have a tea kettle and some tea on hand. You never know when your friends or family might request tea over coffee. But also tea kettles are beautiful items! Even this relatively low cost one on Amazon is functional and decorative!
8. Decorative Mason Jar Set
Whether you intend to use these for canning your homemade jam or simply placing on a window sill for decoration, I can assure you they won’t run up your remodeling bills and they are sure to please!
9. Odeli Area Rug
Is modern the style that speaks most to you? If so, this is the rug for you. It’s got a nice mixture of bright and neutral colors and sports a geometric design that implies the cleanliness and order you want in your bathroom.
10. Winsome Walnut Counter Stool
This is another classic example of an item that serves as both an aesthetic addition to your home and an important function. You can never have too much seating available in your living room. And if you have any kind of rustic theme going on, this walnut counter stool will feel right at home.
11. Clear Glass Drawer Pulls
Interested in adding a touch of class to your kitchen? Glass drawer pulls are nice because they’re comparatively affordable than alternative options and gives a fancy crystalline appearance that looks upscale.
12. TARDIS/Van Gogh Shower Curtain
Now here is a specialty item for a very specific audience. I’m guessing any of you who aren’t fans of Doctor Who have no idea what this product is in reference to. For those within the sci-fi time-traveling cult, here is yet another item combining these two classic works of art!
13. Papasan Chair
Papasan chairs are most common in bedrooms. But this kind of playful style is becoming more widely accepted in a standard living area today. Either way they are a fun alternative to traditional seating options.
14. Beanbag Chair
I would imagine that college dorms and children’s bedrooms remain the most popular place for beanbag chairs. But dorms and kids’ rooms deserve home decor attention as much as the next room. And like papasan chairs, beanbags are becoming more and more acceptable in main living rooms and other locations.
15. Wicker Swing Chair
Papasan chairs and beanbag chairs are fun. But they’ve had their day. If you want to be a step ahead of the trends, you need to get your hands on one of these today! Wicker chairs are most often used as outdoor furniture. But there’s no reason their utility should be so limited. They look great and are wildly comfortable!
16. ClosetMaid Cubeicle Bookshelves
You may not be able to use shelves this small as a wall or means to segregate a space as is suggested in the e-book. However, for general storage and an air of organization, these shelves will affordably add some spunk to just about any room in your house!
17. “Today is a New Day” Wall Art
I don’t normally go for inspirational or motivational phrases or decor. But I’ve seen this very plaque in many homes used effectively. I’ve seen it in an entry way, a living room, and many bathrooms. Sometimes simple pick-me-ups are quite effective. And this delivers the goods in a stylish fashion that avoids feeling tacky.
18. Rubbermaid 50 Qt. Containers
Where the wooden storage baskets and spice rack offer both aesthetic appeal and storage space, these bins are strictly the latter. Everyone needs to keep certain items around, but would rather have them out of sight. That’s where these come into play.
19. Crown Mark Pierce Side Table
It is an all to common home decor faux pas to lack surface space in high traffic room. You never know when guests will need to set down their drink or book to switch gears towards socializing. That’s why you can never have too many coffee tables or side tables. I’ve had this one for almost five years and can proudly affirm that it is as sturdy today as when I first bought it.
When people think of chalkboards, they probably think of classrooms. But really, they have many more uses than that. On top of being ideal for any children’s bedroom or play room, chalkboards are useful on the fridge, or by the phone to jot down messages. Like many of the items on this list, don’t think that your first association is all the item is good for!
21. Chalkboard Chalk
Anyone who buys the chalkboard will naturally need something to write with. This is a nice set that comes with both white chalk for jotting down quick notes and colored chalk to keep the kids happy.
22. Sisal Rug
While it might not fit just every room of the house to have a fancy Sisal rug of Indian origin, odds are there are one or two spots in your current home where this would fit in nicely. They tend to look more natural on wood or solid floors, but don’t let that stop you from getting creative in your arranging.
23. Moroccan Lantern
I’ll admit that these aren’t likely to become a primary light source in your dream home, but they will provide a bit of spunk and old-fashioned class to any room. If you’re looking to go down the rustic or eclectic route, these are small and cheap, but will go a long way in transforming your home.
24. Butterfly Chair
Like the Moroccan lanterns, butterfly chairs might not offer the most practical seating option in the room, but that won’t stop certain demographics from migrating to its funky appeal. Perfect for any college dorm, children’s room, or anyone seeking an eclectic style residence!
