Are you the go-to cook in your circle?
Do you test, tweak, and perfect your recipes?
Do you genuinely love being in the kitchen?

If you’re nodding yes, we’d love to feature you.

Homemade Recipes is a growing community of home cooks, food lovers, and curious kitchen creatives. We share recipes, techniques, tips, and real-life skills that make everyday cooking better. If you cook because you love it and you’re always learning, you’ll fit right in.

We’re always looking to collaborate with passionate home chefs who want to share what they know.

How to Get Started

To apply, send us a trial recipe with photos.

We won’t publish your recipe or photos without your permission. We simply want to see your cooking style, your writing voice, and how you present a dish from start to finish.

Send us your best. We want to see you on a plate.

Photo Requirements

We’re looking for clean, well-lit, focused images that help tell the story of your recipe.

Please include:

  • A photo of the ingredients

  • Photos of any step that’s easier shown than explained

    • Lattice crust placement

    • A chiffonade cut

    • Forming a dough well

    • Folding technique

  • A clear, styled photo of the finished dish

Not every stir needs a photo. If the step is obvious in writing, skip it. If it helps the reader truly understand what to do, show it.

Cooking is an experience. Take us from prep to presentation.

And yes, presentation matters.

Post Format Guidelines

1. Introduction

Introduce yourself and your recipe.

Tell us:

  • What you’re making

  • What’s in it

  • Why you love it

  • What makes it special

Let your personality show. We’re not looking for robotic writing. We want voice.

2. Ingredients

List:

  • Every ingredient

  • Exact measurements

  • Order of use

If you prefer certain brands, tell us why.
If you have substitutions, include them.
If there are helpful tips, share them.

Clarity builds trust.

3. Instructions

Write clear, step-by-step directions.

Some of our readers are new to cooking. Keep that in mind. If writing isn’t your strong suit, that’s okay. Our editorial team will polish the final draft.

After your recipe, include a short closing paragraph that wraps it up and speaks directly to the reader.

Pro tip: imagine you’re on a cooking show explaining the final dish to the camera. We all do it. Don’t pretend you don’t.

A Few Important Notes

This is not a full-time position. Fame is not guaranteed.

We run Homemade Recipes because we love cooking. We want to collaborate with people who feel the same way.

This opportunity is perfect for home cooks who:

  • Love showcasing their skills

  • Have a food blog and want more visibility

  • Want to grow their audience

  • Or all of the above

Contributor Rates
